I painted this one afternoon in Surf City. I liked these boats near the One Stop Bait & Tackle and Seafood Market off Roland Avenue. That is the new Surf City Bridge in the background. It was just another very hot July afternoon here in North Carolina. There was no shade! So I setup between a Power Pole and a Dumpster! I had to keep moving my easel to stay in the tiny shade of the pole! All the while inhaling "aroma" of the Seafood market dumpster! The joy of plein air painting! The fisherman- Allen who owns those boats stopped by and bought my painting. I named this painting "Amanda and Allen" in honor of Allen and his first mate Amanda. I am now friends with both.
I have explored my favorite subjects in Watercolors, and Oils. I learned to draw and paint while growing up in India. I have called North Carolina my home since 1996. I am past Signature member of North Carolina Watercolor Society. I was featured artist for North Carolina Seafood Festival (2017), Kinston BBQ Festival (2016), Cary Lazy Daze (2014), and Parade of Homes (2010), I accept commissions.
